Grundfos submersible pumps

The Grundfos pumps from DWTN

Anyone can suffer from flooding. It can happen in a basement under a house, but also in parking garages, distribution centers and shopping centers. Flooding can be caused by heavy rainfall or flooding, but often the cause is rising groundwater or a burst pipe. Buildings with a (parking) basement are especially sensitive because water always flows to the lowest point. Underground spaces are also often equipped with water pipes that can cause damage. To quickly solve the problem of flooding, you can use a submersible pump.

What is a submersible pump / submersible pumps?

Submersible pumps are capable of pumping large volumes of liquids. Characteristic is that the pump is always lower and the water is pumped up into the submersible pump by means of the motor. This motor determines the pump capacity, which is shown in the number of liters per hour. The motor also determines the head. The head is the number of meters that the water can be pumped up. The special thing about the engine is that it is not air-cooled, unlike most engines. The submersible pump is always in the water, so air cooling is impossible. The cooling takes place precisely through the pumped water. This is often also the reason that the pump must always be completely submerged in water before it can be started. The pump is therefore also equipped with a switch that is controlled by a float. This float indicates whether the pump is still completely in the water. When the pump runs dry, it will give a signal.

The advantages of submersible pump / submersible pumps

A major advantage of submersible pumps is that they are compact. For transferring water, whether from a basement, a commercial space or a pond, the pump can simply be inserted and removed again after draining. In the webshop you will find a choice of various pumps, from light pumps to heavier pumps. There is therefore always a submersible pump that meets your needs.

Another advantage is that these pumps and pump sumps can handle various types of water and liquids. Whether your home or business space is sufficient with ordinary water or sewage, most pumps can handle this. Pond water, on the other hand, contains a lot of sand, so there are also special pumps for that. Or maybe you have a swimming pool and you want to pump out the chlorinated water. Most pumps and pump sumps can also handle liquids with chemicals.

If you need a permanent submersible pump to pump large quantities of liquid, pump sumps made of concrete or plastic are a good solution. All excess water or waste water is then pumped away from the fixed connection. But we also have a sufficient range of submersible pumps for lighter jobs. The most important thing to pay attention to is the capacity that a pump can handle and the head. Depending on the capacity of the pump, DWTN always has a suitable pump for you.
