Durable FILCOTEN concrete drainage channels

The drainage channel offers the excellent properties of FILCOTEN HPC (High Performance Concrete) and supplements them with additional safety aspects. The anchor pockets on the sides of the linear channel provide a safe hold in the concrete bed. Due to the special construction of the galvanized steel, cast iron or stainless steel frames, the grilles can be attached easily and safely. Adjacent cover surfaces can be optimally attached to the side of the edge profile. In the BG-FILCOTEN® series, the linear gutter is also available with a lower total height. The system can withstand loads up to class F 900 (according to EN 1433).

FILCOTEN® HPC, environmentally friendly without BTEX substances

An environmental certificate has been issued by the IBR (Institut fur Baubiologie Rosenheim) for the BG-FILCOTEN® grid gutter. The building material FILCOTEN® HPC does not contain any BTEX substances. BTEX stands for Benzene, Toluene, Ethylbenzene and Xylenes

FILCOTEN® HPC is a building material composed of fiber concrete C60/75. Compared to classic concrete channels of type M, the weight saving of 70% provides advantages in transport and handling. The biggest advantage is that the FILCOTEN® HPC grid gutter has the dimensions and approximately the same weight as a drain gutter made of polymer concrete, but does not contain the so-called chemical BTEX substances.


Gutter types M & I in accordance with NEN EN 1433

A European harmonized standard, NEN EN 1433, applies to line drainage.
Various gutter types are described in this standard.
A distinction is made between gutter elements that must be installed without a foundation and concrete casing (gutter type I) and those with a concrete foundation and casing (gutter type M).
Many of the gutter systems supplied in the Netherlands are of the so-called type M.
In contrast to type I, installation of type M must be carried out carefully. Each supplier refers to the relevant installation instructions.
In fact, the drainage channel is only suitable for the specified traffic load when it is covered with the prescribed quality and quantity of concrete.
The use of gutter type I saves considerably on installation time and the load capacity is no longer dependent on installation with concrete.
By means of a so-called DoP statement and a marking on each gutter element, you can immediately see which type it is.
