Swirl valve - Flow limiter CEV
Swirl valve - Flow limiter CEV
The centrifugal flow regulator, type CEV, with European technology verification is manufactured for a specific capacity, typically within a capacity range of 0.2 l/s to 80 l/s (see diagram). The flow regulator is used for small to moderate amounts of rainwater and certain types of industrial wastewater.
The design of the centrifugal flow controller provides an average water discharge/flow that is significantly higher than other simple flow control techniques. It has steeper current control characteristics and can maximize discharge at both the 'peak' of the characteristic and the design point (h design, Q design). See an illustration of this in the CEV controller feature.
This ideal design gives the centrifugal flow controller unique flow control features. That is why our flow regulators have the largest openings and therefore the lowest risk of clogging. Moreover, the inlet is not separated by partitions or the like. The larger the opening, the smaller the risk of clogging.
During operation, the flow opening of the flow regulator remains unchanged; it does not gradually decrease as the water level rises, as is the case with some flow-control techniques.
The inlet of the flow regulator is from below. This ensures that there is a water seal and that the closing water column is as high as possible.
The CEV regulator has an adjustable inlet opening. The inlet opening is infinitely adjustable and can be set to ±25% of the average water outlet/flow. The adjustment interval for each individual flow controller varies. The flow regulator is also available with a replaceable outlet baffle that allows for further adjustment of capacity.
The flow regulator is the only one on the market whose capacity can be adjusted on site without having to replace components: two screws are loosened with an Allen key and the gap is adjusted. If you want to change the capacity, you can contact us. We identify the flow regulator by its reference number and then calculate the opening setting for the new capacity.
A CEV flow regulator is available with coupling (wedge coupling) and tie rod to facilitate easy, clean installation and removal from the ground. This allows inspection, service or capacity changes of the flow controller to take place under ideal hygienic and working conditions.
By equipping the flow controller with a closed coupling claw at the front, the flow control possibilities are as follows:
- Throttling effect when the flow regulator is in normal position
- Close by turning the flow regulator 180° about a vertical axis. This option can be useful in the event of an accident involving a tanker truck, etc.
- Bypass when the controller is dismantled/lifted.
Often the centrifugal flow controller can be built into existing or designed chambers or tanks as it takes up very little space; there must be a container.
Properties
- Regulates the flow using centrifugal force in the vortex chamber
- Inlet from below to maximize the seal column of water
- Large passage opening that remains unchanged during use
- No moving parts
- No electrical components
- Made of acid-resistant stainless steel AISI 316L (Werkstoff 1.4404)
- The features reduce costs for installation, operation and maintenance.
